Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy outlines the rules and expectations for all users of Lost Game Archive. By using the Platform, you agree to follow these guidelines. This policy supplements our Terms of Service.

Purpose

Lost Game Archive exists to preserve, catalog, and help players rediscover forgotten and niche video games. Our community tools, including Nexus hubs, forums, the Vault, and LFG boards, are designed to facilitate coordination and shared enthusiasm for these games. All use of the Platform should align with this purpose.

Prohibited Content

You may not post, upload, or share content that:

• Contains or promotes illegal activity
• Infringes on the copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights of others
• Contains malware, viruses, or other harmful code
• Is sexually explicit, pornographic, or obscene
• Promotes violence, hate speech, or discrimination against individuals or groups
• Contains personal or private information of others without their consent (doxxing)
• Is spam, advertising, or commercial solicitation
• Impersonates another person, company, or organization

Prohibited Behavior

Users may not engage in:

• Harassment, bullying, stalking, or intimidation of other users
• Creating multiple accounts to evade bans or manipulate features (voting, reviews, leaderboards)
• Automated access, scraping, or data harvesting without written permission
• Attempting to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or Platform systems
• Exploiting bugs or vulnerabilities instead of reporting them
• Deliberately disrupting hub sessions, voice chat, or community activities
• Selling, trading, or transferring accounts

Hub Management

Nexus hub leaders and editors have additional responsibilities:

• Hub names and descriptions must be appropriate and relate to a game in the archive
• Hub leaders must moderate their hub's content and remove violations
• Hub session tools (maps, tokens, cards, voice) must be used for their intended purpose
• Hub invites must not be used for spam or unsolicited promotion
• Inactive hubs may be archived after 90 days of no activity

Vault Submissions

When contributing to the Vault:

• Only submit content you have the right to share, or content in the public domain
• Do not upload pirated games, ROMs, ISOs, or executable game files
• Clearly describe what you are uploading and tag it to the correct game
• Respect the preservation intent: guides, manuals, maps, mods, and community tools are welcome

Forum & Chat

When participating in forums, hub chat, and LFG boards:

• Stay on topic and respect the purpose of each space
• Do not flood, spam, or post repetitive messages
• Use spoiler warnings when discussing game endings or major plot points
• Respect other players' skill levels and play styles
• Keep voice chat appropriate: no excessive noise, music blasting, or disruptive audio

Enforcement

Violations of this policy may result in:

• Warning: A notice to stop the behavior
• Content removal: The offending content is removed
• Temporary suspension: Account access restricted for a period of time
• Permanent ban: Account permanently disabled

The severity of the response depends on the nature and frequency of the violation. We reserve the right to take immediate action for serious violations without prior warning.

Reporting Violations

If you see content or behavior that violates this policy, please report it using the flag button on any game page, profile, or hub. You can also contact us directly. All reports are reviewed by our moderation team.
